Christian Youth in Action

If you are a Christian youth, how do you typically spend your summer break? Sure, you could just hang out with your friends or stay in the normal summer routine. However, you could join a team of other young people and impact the lives of children with the Gospel.

Christian Youth in Action® (CYIA™) is a CEF program that effectively trains you to become a summer missionary to the children of a given area. Think about it… you can reach children with the Gospel, strengthen your own faith, build new friendships, and gain valuable ministry experience. Ask us for more details!

What is CYIA?

Christian Youth In Action (CYIA) is exactly what it sounds like – Christian youth actively involved in making a difference in the lives of America’s 50 million unchurched children! CYIA is a program designed to train you and a team of other young people in effective and engaging ways to teach children about God. Every year, two-thirds of all children under the age of 14 never attend church or Sunday School. You can make an eternal difference in the lives of these children by serving as a CYIA summer missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship, leading and teaching 5-Day Clubs. You can watch videos about CYIA at www.cefonline.com/cyia.

For five consecutive days, 60-90 minutes each day, children gather in various places around the community to hear dynamic Bible lessons, sing songs, learn Scripture memory verses, listen to missionary stories, and hear the Gospel clearly presented. Clubs can be held in churches, parks, community centers, backyards, or other safe locations.Learn more about 5-Day Clubs HERE

The summer begins with one week of specialized training at Linden Valley Baptist Conference Center in Linden, TN (May 26-31, 2024.) Young people, ages 12 through early college, learn how to share the Gospel using the Wordless Book. Summer missionaries are also trained to teach Bible lessons, memory verses, missionary stories, songs, and games. It is both meaningful AND fun!

After returning home, you will put this training to good use, working with your fellow summer missionaries to lead 5-Day Clubs for a few weeks in your local area. The exact weeks that you serve and number of clubs per week will vary based upon how your team comes together and the availability of ministry locations in your local area.

If you have a heart for ministry and want to team up with other young people to reach the children in your community, then the CYIA summer missions program is for you!

We also endeavor to select ministry locations that are safe and manageable. Even though 5-Day Clubs are led by CYIA summer missionaries, there will be fully-screened adults assisting and providing “back-up” as needed. Please feel free to contact me personally with any questions!
